How Long Does It Take to Build a Pool?
As a homeowner considering getting an inground pool, you may be asking, “How long does it take to build a pool?” Well, the answer depends on whether you’re getting a fiberglass inground pool or a custom concrete (gunite) pool put in.
Custom Concrete/Gunite Pool Installation
Firstly, we’re going to focus on how long it takes to build a gunite pool. Similar to the custom concrete 75’ lap pool with spa and pergola featured in the video and photos in this blog. This is one of our favorite projects we’ve completed in Harford County recently.
In general, concrete pool installation will take about 6-10 weeks.* From the planning stages to excavation to the work on the pool interior, spa, pool deck, pergola, fence, and landscaping, our client made a big investment of time and money. It was worth it – the finished product is amazing.
Although there are a lot of moving pieces when it comes to building a pool, the Woodfield team is committed to making your pool installation an exceptional experience.

Fiberglass Pool Installation
Alternatively, fiberglass pool installation goes a lot more quickly. In general, it takes 2 weeks or less for fiberglass pool installation*. The main reason is that a fiberglass pool is manufactured off-site, and there is not as much labor involved on our end.
