3 Reasons Why Fall May Be the Best Time to Install an Inground Pool

Hot and humid weather this summer may have made you jealous of your neighbors who have inground pools. That clear blue water looks so inviting! If you’re thinking about how nice it would be to have your own pool but think you have to wait until next spring to get it installed, think again. Keep reading to find out why autumn may be the best time to install an inground pool.

1. Pool Contractors Aren’t as Busy

The spring and summer months are incredibly busy for pool builders in Maryland. That’s because homeowners who are investing in an inground pool want to enjoy it for as long as they can – preferably by Memorial Day or at the latest, the 4th of July. Everyone wants to host pool parties and show off their new pool paradise.

But pool builders don’t stop working when the summer ends. They’re just not as slammed. If you wait until August or September to contact companies, you can usually schedule a consultation within a few days rather than weeks like you might in the spring. This allows you to choose who to hire faster and get your swimming pool installation completed faster.

If the weather cooperates, you may even be able to use your pool this year!

2. You May Have Lower Costs than if You Waited Until Spring

Occasionally, outdoor living companies and pool contractors will offer incentives to book your pool installation for the Fall months. (See #1.) But you may also be able to save money over a spring installation because you avoid the annual rise in the cost of goods.

This can include everything from the cost of a fiberglass pool to pool decking to rising labor costs. At least part of those price increases will get passed on to you, the consumer.

3. Your Pool Landscaping Gets Off to a Great Start

All the excavation and heavy equipment in your yard is an unavoidable part of any pool installation. This can mean you have trampled, flattened grass and bare dirt. In the summer, new landscaping might struggle to get established because of heat and drought. But in the Fall, the cooler temperatures allow new grass seed, shrubs, and even newly planted trees can get off to a great start.
