Dear Santa, I Want An Inground Pool For Christmas
Remember when you were a kid and you would write a letter to Santa? If you were lucky, you got a postcard back from the North Pole. Or maybe your parents too you to sit on Santa’s lap, and you would tell him what you wanted for Christmas. If you were like most kids, you had very specific ideas of what you wanted – brand names, colors, features, etc. Not just any bike or toy would do.
So now you’re all grown up, but you can still have fun with writing a letter to Santa (wink, wink), If you want an inground pool for Christmas, writing it down will help you talk to Maryland inground pool contractors to see if they can deliver what you want.
Do You Want a Concrete or Fiberglass Inground Pool?
This is the first big question to tackle. There are pros and cons to both concrete and fiberglass inground pools. Concrete pools can be completely customized. They will last longer, but cost more and take longer to install. Because they are manufactured, fiberglass pools come in a limited number of shapes and sizes. But cost less and take less time to install. Do your research to see which kind of inground pool best suits your wants, needs, and budget.
How Big Should Your Inground Pool Be?
The answer to this question is different for every family. Things to take into consideration include:
- The size of your yard
- How many people are in your family
- How much entertaining you plan to do
- Whether you want to be able to swim laps
- And more
You might find it helpful to read one of our inground pool blogs about why size matters.
What Shape Pool Do You Want?
If you want to be able to swim laps, a rectangular pool might be best. If you want a pool with a lot of curves, fiberglass might be the way to go. You could also go for an oval or round pool. Or an L-shaped pool. Or go for a custom shape. The choices are endless.
After you’ve answered these questions, you’re ready to write your letter to Santa, or request for proposals, as it were. Remember to be somewhat flexible and open to suggestions when you interview inground pool builders. Most of us have been in business awhile, and can tell you if what you want is actually feasible for your location. And we may have suggestions you may not have thought of.
You may not have your pool installed before Christmas, but you can certainly put brochures or a signed contract under the tree, addressed from Santa to your whole family. Imagine the look on your kids’ faces!
