Paver patios continue to grow in popularity. A paver patio has a much more high end look than a plain concrete patio or stamped concrete patio. Like their name implies, paver patios are constructed with individual pavers, stones, or bricks. Woodfield Outdoors is an authorized installer of EP Henry and Techno-Bloc products, and we work with a variety of materials, depending on your needs and tastes.
We are hardscape design and installation experts, and we know the difference between how the various materials will hold up, and the pros and cons of each. We will share our expertise with you to help you decide which materials will work best for your new patio.
Planning Paver Patios
When we come to your home to give you your free estimate, we’ll take precise measurements so that we can quote you the appropriate costs for materials. A single level patio will be priced lower than a multi-level patio with stairs, for example. Whether your patio design is rectangular, has curves or has an intricate design will also affect the final cost of your paver patio. We’ll also take into account the labor involved if we need to remove an old concrete patio, or if we are starting from scratch where we need to remove sod and other plant material.
We’ll do the grading necessary to ensure we have a level surface before beginning the installation of your new paver patio. There are actually several layers to paver patios:
- Landscaping fabric to block weed growth
- A 6” layer of gravel for the base
- A 1” layer of sand
- Your pavers, brick, or natural stone
- Polymeric / jointing sand / pea gravel between the pavers
There are a wide variety of patterns and colors we can use in creating your new paver patio, including:
- Jack on Jack
- Running Bond
- Basket Weave
You may wish to take a look at our portfolio or websites like Pinterest to help you decide what look appeals to you, and whether you want to use pavers or larger scale stone tiles such as flagstone. We can also add retaining walls and built in seating based on your needs and if we are dealing with a slope. .
The possibilities are truly endless!
